JUNE 2024

The Indian leopard is a subspecies of the leopard and widely distributed on the Indian Subcontinent. Their main habitat are large undisturbed forest and rainforest areas but their ability to adapt to any other areas where food is abundant also brings them in to large urban areas like Mumbai where they live secretly next to humans. Like other leopard species as well the Indian leopard carry its kill on a tree to hide it from other predators like tigers. This beautiful male leopard was my first sighting when visiting Bandipur Tiger Reserve last month. For more wildlife of India click here.
