JANUARY 2021

During the winter months long-eared owls often spend the day in roosting trees. They can be found in big numbers roosting in the same tree, some owls may even use the same branch every day. Long-eared owls are numerous throughout Germany but yet hard to find. So i was more than happy when a friend told me about this tree. Up to 16 owls were seen in this tree at the same time. In the late morning the start to get more active with grooming and depending on sunshine changing the branch, so this is the best time to get a shot of them with eyes open. The fresh fallen snow was just perfect to frame these amazing birds. For more owl pictures click here.
