Photographing alpine ibex in winterly conditions was long on my bucket list. So finally at the beginning of January two friends and myself were hiking up to the area of the Benediktenwand in Southern Bavaria, from the parking lot almost 900 metres in height!!! Arriving at the bottom of the last steep mountain, no signs of ibex at all. After searching for some time we found them standing in the middle of a vertical mountain wall. It was amazing to watch how agile these mountaineers were walking and jumping across the rocks. With many photos and a smile on our face we descended back to the parking lot! It was a very demanding day but it was absolutely worth it! For more Bavarian wildlife click here.
