Wild Bavaria

In the southern part of Bavaria the bavarian alps form a mountain range that is the border to Austria. Many protected nature reserves and national parks are established in that area. In and around those nature reserves you can still find chamois, alpine ibex, golden eagles, bearded vultures and many other species of wildlife. Since a couple years wolves, european lynx and brown bear are occasionally seen there as well (unfortunately not by me yet) – not always welcomed by the farmers and local people who are afraid for their livestock on the alpine meadows during the summer months.
