AUGUST 2020

A garden bumblebee and a meadow brown sharing table on an echinacea flower. I haven’t been interested in macro photography that much the recent years but with the lock down and the ban for travel i discovered so much wildlife around my hometown Munich. And the variety of the small world wildlife is incredible. Although during my research of the different insect species i learned that there is a massive decline not only in Germany but for most parts of the world! Since 1989 there is an average decline of all insects of 76% in Germany. Reasons for that are numerous but the excessive agriculture and use of herbacide are the two main causes. The decline has a big influence on many other animal species as they’re an important food source for many birds and reptiles and amphibians. For more pictures of insects and butterflies click here.
