MARCH 2020

It took me almost 10 years to get a decent capture of an american badger. These mostly nocturnal creatures are widely spread in the plains and grassland areas of North America and you see the signs of digging and burrows everywhere. But to get a glimpse of these elusive critters or even a good photo in good light – a tricky quest. I met a very friendly photographer at Point Reyes who showed me the burrow and it was just after sunset when this beautiful american badger came out its den. It was so relaxed that it even start grooming for almost 30 minutes in front of us. We left when it was pitch dark with full memory cards and a big smile on our faces…For more wildlife photos from Point Reyes click here.
