The snowy egret is a medium sized white heron quite common along the coasts of the USA. But it also widely distributed in almost all of South America. Like all herons it can wait patiently for the right moment to strike. They feed on fish, amphibians, reptiles and crustaceans. This snowy egret i found at the Bolsa Chica wetlands south of LA.
