Red squirrels can be found in almost every country of Europe, in Russia and throughout north-eastern Asia as well. They belong to the tree squirrel family and are very skilled climbers. Their main habitat are forests and boreal landscapes where they feed on nuts, leaves, seeda but they also feed on eggs and bird chicks. In many bigger cities in Europe, red squirrels live in green parks and are used to humans and it’s pretty easy to watch and photograph them.
