Tamanduas belong the anteater family and can be found in the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. These mostly solitary living animals are day and night active and feed mainly on ants and termites which they find on the ground or in trees. With their powerful claws they are very skilled climbers and they can spend quite some time in the trees while looking for food. This capture was taken while on a hike at Corcovado Nationalpark in Costa Rica. For more wildlife photos of Costa Rica click here.
