Wild Hokkaido

At the end of January 2015, a dream came true when I spent 3 days on Japan's northern- most island Hokkaido to photograph Japanese Cranes during their courtship as well as the Steller‘s sea eagle, one of the biggest eagles in the world. While the cranes are found at Hokkaido year round, the eagles are only found here from January to March when they migrate south from northern Russia and Kamtchatka. Furthermore you can also see numerous Sika Deer and Red Foxes across the island and of course get amazing views of the great volcanic- shaped landscape.
